Fashion gone GaGa!

Everyone knows that the Brit Awards is as much about finding the “that perfect dress” to strut down the red carpet in as it is about the actual awards themselves, right? One faux pas can send even the most “stylish” of stars onto the pages of every worst dressed list for weeks afterwards.

A flawless outfit has the power to either “make or break” personalities in this ever fickle industry. Think
Elizabeth Hurley, formerly just the girlfriend of a nearly famous actor, in 1994 she wore “THE Versace Safety Pin dress” to a premier, and shortly afterwards became a fashion icon in her own right. Even today this remains the most iconic outfit ever to grace the red carpet…. who said fashion was just about looking forward anyway?

Which only further begs the question in my mind, what the Hell was
Lady GaGa thinking when she turned up on the red carpet last Tuesday? Outlandish doesn’t even begin to describe the outfit donned by the 3 times Brit award winner. Peter Kay laughed it off by commenting “she is the only women I know who gets her clothes from Ikea”…oh dear!?! As a modern day icon, who is known for shall we errrm say unusual? wardrobe choices, a timeless classic was never likely to be on her agenda. But the towering Parisian inspired wig, signature leotard and lace Philip Treacy mask were all just wrong, wrong WRONG!
