New bag anyone?

Flicking through the pages of fashion magazines, helpful for finding “night out outfit” ideas, but stepping out wearing a super-brand is sadly not a part of my typical Friday night routine. My current winter wardrobe is far more Miss Selfridge than Missoni. The reason for this being that the said “super-brands” are not readily accessible to the masses, cue tacky designer fakes…
It is my personal belief that the reason designer perfume lines, handbags and items of jewellery are so successful is that the average shopper can obtain a piece of these brands without having to take out a small mortgage….on a recent trip to
Marc Jacobs on Mount Street I noticed this concept had been taken one step further. Although everything had a designer name on it, one bag was emblazoned: “Jacobs by Marc Jacobs, for Marc by Marc Jacobs, in collaboration with Marc Jacobs for Marc by Marc Jacobs”
I think someone wants people to know where they have been shopping!?
The Jacobs collection carries price tags to rival
Topshop, with a generously sized day bag costing as little as £20. Ok, so it may not be identical to the one on Cheryl Cole’s arm but who are we to argue over the details.
Well at these prices it seems almost silly not to get two….errrm has anyone even noticed that there’s a recession going on?
